Customer’s need or problem

The customer expressed a need to create a label where their brand name, a metal inscription, would not rest on the leather backing, as with usual plaques with logos, but would “float” in a void. The top and bottom would be made of fine leather.

Target

To devise a system that would allow the plaque/logo to be anchored to two sections made from fine leather while leaving an empty space under the metal letters, and also ensuring that the individual letters in the logo are kept separate from one another and do not form a single block.

Challenges and obstacles

As we had never had such a request before, we started to produce some practical designs to enable the letters to be firmly anchored to the two leather strips, ensuring their safety and durability while preventing them from becoming detached. After fine-tuning the designs, we consulted our suppliers of small metal parts to find the most effective system of anchoring the letters with the least visual impact, so as to keep the lettering clean-looking and free of any “soiling” from the anchors.

Solution adopted

By working with the experts in metal applications, we were able to minimize the thickness and depth of the lettering, and so avoid adding too much weight to the label while also ensuring the anchors were sufficiently strong. A system of fixing the label to the garment by means of snap buttons allows the garment to be washed without the risk of ruining the label.

Why

The label had to maintain its “ethereal” appearance, ensuring that the anchors were completely invisible, thus preserving the clean, stylish look of the design.

Result

A label that combines style with practicality, for a sophisticated look that always remains impeccable.

The customer was more than satisfied. The label speaks of luxury and has been selected for the company’s most exclusive garments: it is the unmistakable signature of uncompromising style.
